Hi all hoping someone can help me out. I've been working offshore near Newcastle for a while and we're eyeing a move to Texas. How hard is it to find steady work once you're there? Just trying to keep my ducks in a row before we pack up.

I think you have a good chance with your offshore experience. Texas oil industry is strong, especially in the Gulf of Mexico
That's good to hear. Any advice on where to start looking, or areas hiring the most? Trying to land on my feet quick once we make the move.

Steady work depends on your skills and the current market. The Permian Basin and Gulf Coast have plenty of oil and gas jobs, but competition can be tough . Having the right certifications and some networking can really help lock down steady gigs. What kind of roles are you looking at, and do you already have connections there??

Thanks for this. I've mostly done rig work and some maintenance so I'm hoping to stay in that lane. No real connections yet. Any tips on where to start building that network before we land?
