For background, my company helps businesses see who's checking out their website even if they don't fill out forms. I'm doing some research here and I'm curious if something like that would even be useful in the oil and gas industry? are websites needed for new business to see who's interested? And how do you usually find and check out new suppliers or partners? any insight will be helpful

Yeah, in oil and gas, knowing who's visiting your site could help with targeting suppliers or partners, we usually research online, check trade directories, or rely on referrals

Absolutely! That kind of tool could be a game changer for the oil and gas sector. I mean, so many companies do their homework online before even making a move to get in touch. Just think about it, if you could see who's browsing your site, you'd have a fantastic opportunity to reach out and engage with them right away. It's like turning curiosity into connections. But honestly, most people I know still rely on good old referrals, trade shows, and LinkedIn to find new suppliers. It's just how the industry rolls. I'm curious, how do you typically meet new contacts in your work? Any favorite strategy?

you know, your idea of seeing who's checking out the website, even without form fills, could be really useful for specific O&G niches.
I'd imagine it would be particularly valuable for tech providers, like companies offering new software, automation, or specialized services etc. also new entrants like new suppliers trying to break into a crowded space. or M&A activity, like if you're looking for partners or even acquisition targets, seeing who's researching your firm could be strategic intel

Have you considered combining this with some outreach strategies? I think it should work because you'll be tarketing key players in this industry and they will research you, so this is where your website will come into play.
