I've been trying to learn about opportunities and industry trends in oil and gas. If you think about it, much of everything we do still highly depends on oil and gas, despite the rising demand for solar and electric energy. This led me to think about the top players in the oil and gas industry.

So far, I can think of:
- Saudi Aramco
- ExxonMobil
- Chevron Corp.
- PetroChina
- ShellPLC
- TotalEnergies
- BP PLC
- ConocoPhilips

Are there any other major companies I should be aware of? Any trends or opportunities you know about?

It's also intriguing why industry leaders aren't really high-profile, you know the way Elon Musk, Jeffrey Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg got their name almost synonymous to their products / services.

Great list! I'd throw in Sinopec, Equinor, and Occidental too. Right now, a big trend is digital optimization, think AI and IoT for predictive maintenance. We're also seeing some major M&A activity, like Exxon-Pioneer and Chevron-Hess. The energy transition is another hot topic, with carbon capture, hydrogen, and renewables slowly making their way into portfolios. And let's be real, oil executives tend to keep it low-key,this industry has always prioritized operations over personalities

If you're looking at a broader global scope, you might consider adding Sinopec, CNOOC, Equinor and Enbridge!
Regarding trends and opportunities, you'll see a strong emphasis on decarbonization efforts, often through technologies like Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) and investments in renewable energy integration within their own operations.
@PipeDreamer is also spot on about the M&A activity and the massive push for digital transformation with AI, machine learning, and IoT.
And about the low-profile industry leaders, I guess it has something to do with the industry being fundamentally a B2B instead of a direct-to-consumer business.
Maybe they also prefer the more reserved and corporate approach because of the controversial nature of the business, especially when it comes to environmental concerns.
I guess it means less public-facing for them.
