Been thinking about how much of this industry runs on gut instinct and experience. There's definitely a kind of feel you develop over time that no textbook can teach. But at the same time, I've seen how much of a difference a solid education can make especially when it comes to understanding the bigger picture or moving up. Learning the oil business takes a lot of instinct, no doubt but a formal education definitely helps a lot and if you're ever going to amount to anything long term, that education will only make you better at what you do.

It's built on years of seeing things go right and wrong, and it teaches you things no textbook ever could about the practical realities.
But that formal education provides the foundational principles, the 'why' behind the 'what,' and the strategic frameworks needed to navigate massive projects, complex geology, or global market shifts. You need both to truly excel and move up into leadership roles
